Tuition

By enrolling at QCMS and designating a credit card or other payment method, you authorize QCMS to charge you tuition and any other charges you may incur in connection with your enrollment at QCMS. Such charges may be charged against your credit card or other payment method provided by you to QCMS. You must provide QCMS with a current valid method of payment and you are responsible for maintaining your credit or payment method current at all times. You will receive a single invoice setting forth tuition and the total recurring monthly amount (including rental, if applicable). All payments are processed by pre-authorized credit card on the 25th day of the preceding month. Tuition for the initial month only is prorated to the end of the month. After the initial payment, tuition is never prorated. Tuition is non-refundable. Past due/declined credit card payments are subject to a $25 late fee. A registration fee of $30 each session per student ($50 max per family) is collected initially upon registration, and every September, January, and June.

Average of 4 Lessons Per Month

Monthly tuition is based on a 48-week year. We are closed approximately 4 weeks for holidays. In the long months you will get 5 lessons, short months such as November or December you will get 3 lessons, and most months you will get 4 lessons. The tuition is the SAME each month. We do not charge more for months with 5 lessons and less for months with 3 lessons. Bi-Weekly students, paying half month rate get 24 lessons per year, 2 lessons per month. NOTE: Short term students will be billed monthly based on the number of lessons per month.

Calendar

The studio will be closed on the following dates/holidays unless otherwise notified by QCMS. No make-up lessons will be given for lessons that fall on the days the studio is closed. Cancellations and Make Ups

For any lesson missed by an instructor, QCMS will attempt to provide a substitute instructor at your regular lesson time. If a substitute instructor is not available, a makeup lesson will be scheduled with the regular instructor. EXCUSED absences by a student (illness, medical emergency) will have a makeup scheduled by QCMS with the regular instructor OR a substitute based on availability. UNEXCUSED absences by a student (school events, sporting events, birthday parties…) will have a makeup ONLY at QCMS’s discretion. Makeup lessons may only be awarded if your instructor has 24-hour notice of your absence. Whether an absence is excused or unexcused shall be determined by QCMS, in its sole discretion. All make-up lessons will be scheduled by QCMS and confirmed with the instructor. No more than two (2) make-up lessons per session may be awarded due to student cancellations. NOTE: Occasionally an instructor might need to terminate their teaching position anytime during the year. QCMS reserves the right to change student’s instructor(s) anytime during the year with 1-week notice. Unexpected change of instructor does not waive required written notice to stop lessons. Students can either continue lessons with assigned teacher or request a different QCMS instructor based on availability.

Discontinuing Lessons

To discontinue lessons and discontinue charges to your credit card, notify the office via email (info@queencitymusicstudio.com) in the first week of your last month. Tuition is not prorated for the last month’s lessons. Students are responsible for the last month’s tuition whether or not they attend the lessons.

Vacations

QCMS operates year-round and does not close during the summer. We are happy to offer vacation makeups. These lessons will be given after you return from vacation. We will TRY to schedule makeup lessons with your regular instructor, but another qualified QCMS instructor may be used as needed. Tuition is still due during the month of your vacation. We do not offer lesson holds.

Care of Students

QCMS is not responsible for providing before and after lesson care for students. Parents of students under the age of 8 MUST remain in the lobby during the lessons. Students are not to be left at the studio for excessive periods of time before or after their lesson. Children must wait for parents to pick them up inside the studio. Please do not ask your child to meet you anywhere else. QCMS assumes no responsibility for children who leave unaccompanied.

Open Door Policy

Parents are always allowed to sit in on lessons. A less distracting option would be to observe the lesson through the window in the door. The student is able to focus on the instruction better this way. For lessons in your home, an adult from the family must be present to supervise all lessons.

Image/Video/Audio Waiver

I give permission for the image, video and/or audio recordings of me and/or my family to be used by QCMS for publicity and advertising purposes.

Severe Weather Cancellations

In case of severe weather, call the office for a recorded voice message, visit our website home page or check local listings for cancellations. Classes will not be made up due to cancellations from severe weather conditions.

Non Waiver

Failure of QCMS to insist upon strict performance of any of the terms, conditions and covenants hereof shall not be deemed a relinquishment or waiver of any rights or remedy that QCMS may have, nor shall it be construed as a waiver of any subsequent breach of the terms, conditions or covenants hereof, which terms, conditions and covenants shall continue to be in full force and effect.
