Little Mozarts Singing

This singing course centers on the adventures of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse as they learn about music. This curriculum provides a fun environment for young children that learn about music through singing and through the enjoyment one receives from the process of music making. The course introduces musical concepts through singing, ear training, and coloring exercises as well as through listening and movement activities. Included in the course are songs to sing for fun, motion songs to introduce musical responses to music, songs to reinforce specific rhythm patterns and songs to aid in the development of musical expressiveness. The songs are a mixture of familiar folk songs and original music for young children. Classes are offered 7 days a week on first come first serve basis. Classes can be 30 or 45 minutes long. This provides a one-on-one learning environment.

Private Voice Lessons

We offer private VOICE LESSONS IN CINCINNATI for students of any age and skill level, from beginner to advanced. All QCMS Voice instructors are professionals in their field with a Degree in Voice Performance. During Individual Voice Lessons every instructor will make sure to cover technical aspects of singing as well as work on selected music repertoire based on Student’s musical interests and goals. Students will work on proper breathing techniques and breath control, developing and improving their vocal range, pitch, voice tone production, enunciation, ear training, stage presence, and more. All Voice lessons start with warm-up exercises/vocalizes that help develop and improve breath control that prevents students from damaging their vocal chords. All students are encouraged to bring any recordings of their favorite songs, or to let their teacher know what songs/repertoire they want to sing.

Benefits of Music Education

Learning to play an instrument (including voice) develops confidence, coordination, and concentration. QCMS Voice Lessons and Singing Lessons involve all aspects of music education, including music theory, music history, improvisation, musicianship skills, vocal technique, and performance skills. We offer a well-rounded curriculum that includes classical music as well as jazz and pop. Above all, our goal is to equip our students with skills and knowledge that will enable them to enjoy music for a lifetime. Students will learn to read, write and properly interpret music along with learning how to sing.

“Music lessons have been shown to improve a child’s performance in school. After eight months of music lessons, preschoolers tested showed a 46% boost in their special IQ, which is crucial for higher brain functions such as complex mathematics.” — Francis Rauscher, Ph.D. and Gordon Shaw, Ph.D.

Instructors and Types of Music We Teach

Our voice instructors are professionals in their field, therefore all teachers can teach a variety of different styles of music such as pop, rock, Disney, Broadway, musical theater, soul, jazz, Christian, and classical. Our voice teachers tailor the methodology to each student’s personality and goals. Whatever your goals are, our voice teachers are here to help you and customize a lesson plan for you. Above all we focus on developing the skills that are most stimulating to each student and strive to make our lessons fun and exciting experience for each student.

Performing Opportunities

QCMS sponsors several events each year to encourage students to set goals, practice, and celebrate their accomplishments. Solo recitals are held three times a year in Spring, Summer and Winter. Each Recital finalizes one of the three Semesters at QCMS allowing students to set and accomplish the goals for each term.

Practice and Parental Support

Sufficient and proper practice is necessary to ensure progress. Most children require parental guidance in organizing their time to accomplish the goals set during lessons. We believe in the importance of the triangle:  student, parent, and teacher  — all working together. All students are different, and it is our belief that all children can learn to sing with the proper guidance and support. Developing a love of music in addition to making music is our ultimate goal.
